Getting Married in The Cook Islands

Things you need to know

The legal age to consent to marriage is 20 years.

Applications can not be made outside of the Cook Islands, and applications for a licence must be made in person to the Registrar of Marriages in the Cook Islands at least 3 working days prior to the marriage.

You will need your passport and birth certificate to complete the Notice of Intended Marriage.

All other supporting documentation to show you are legally able to marry. We suggest you refer to the Australian Attorney-General’s website for further information.
