Fatboys Resort

Fatboys Resort is located on Mbabanga Island, an 8 minute boat ride from Gizo, the provincial capital of the Western Solomons.

The resort's renowned bar and restaurant sits out over the crystal clear waters and serves up delicious meals all while you dine over the water taking in the breath-taking views around.

Offering a range of room types to suit travellers from families to honeymooners, there is truely something for everyone. All rooms offer views of the water and are clean, comfortable and decorated in traditional island style.

The resort offers a range of watersports to keep you and your travel companions busy or you can relax in the bar area with a good book, cold drink and views for miles around.

Couples Bungalow: The Couple Bungalows are perfect for couples wanting a beach getaway with a difference. Located a further along the beachfront away from the main bar and restaurant they offer more privacy and seclusion. Built using local supplies and in a traditional style but with imported furnishings and finishes, the bungalows offer a unique blend that ensures a comfortable and relaxing stay. There is also a large over ocean verandah which boast incredible views and vistas of Kennedy Island, Mt Kolombangara and beyond.

Over Water Delxue Bungalow: The Over Water Deluxe Bungalow is popular with honeymooners and those couples looking for a romantic getaway. Located further along the beachfront away from the main bar and restaurant they offer more privacy and seclusion. Built using local supplies and in a traditional style but with modern imported furnishings and finishes, the bungalows offer a unique blend that ensures a comfortable and relaxing stay. Sitting out over the water, with direct access to the clear waters below, you will spend your days relaxing between your balcony and enjoying the watersports available.

Beach House: With it's own private beach and views over both Kennedy Island and the Vona Vona, the Beach House offers seclusion and privacy for those who stay here. Set over two storey's the upper level features a master bedroom with a queen bed and ensuite plus two verandahs with lounge chairs and a hammock. The lower level has a bedroom with a queen and a single bed and a lounge room.

Family Bungalow: There are two Family Bungalows laid out in a duplex style. Each bungalow has two bedrooms, a master bedroom with a queen sized bed and a second bedroom with three single beds. Each bungalow also has it's own verandah with a hammock and stunning views out over the clear water towards Kennedy Island and Mt Kolombangara. A special feature of these bungalows is a shared verandah with tables and chairs and a staircase to the beach - great for families travelling together or a lrage group of friends!


Dining

Fatboys Restaurant: Fatboys Bar and Restaurant is the perfect setting for a meal or icy cold beverage. A selection of mouth watering dishes are prepared daily using only the freshest local produce and just caught, seafood. If something special comes to mind, ask in advance and the chef will be happy to prepare it for you. Fatboys Bar and Restaurant is reknowned as a favourite dining destination among the locals and guests alike!
