Governor’s Lodge is a serene retreat providing 55 individual cabins, set in 12 acres of landscaped sub-tropical gardens. Offering three styles of accommodation to choose from as well as three on-site dining options, swimming pool with a heated spa and a full service reception to cater to any needs. Take a look at the renovations to Norfolk Island’s first and only environmentally sustainable hotel!
Governor’s Lodge sits on land that was once part of an original 50 acre grant made to James Dawe, a flour miller, soon after the arrival of the Pitcairners in 1856. The land was sub divided and Herbert and Clara Bailey built their family homestead in the early 1900’s which has now been restored to serve as Bailey’s Restaurant – the iconic centrepiece of Governor’s Lodge. Construction of the Lodge commenced in 2001 and the common areas have received an extensive refurbishment throughout 2020. Renovations will continue throughout 2021, starting with external painting of all cabins.
Bailey’s Restaurant
This beautifully restored home has been fully painted and fitted out with new carpet, lighting, chairs, stools, artwork & crockery. Offering diners historic ambience, fine cuisine with Chef’s specials and a comprehensive a la carte menu. Bailey’s is open to the general public so bookings are recommended to avoid disappointment. Baileys is set to re-open in early February 2021 and will be open for lunch and dinner options for your next holiday to Norfolk Island.
