Tour Itinerary:
Before World War 11, Norfolk Island was a rather secluded destination, accessible only by a lengthy and challenging sea voyage. During this tour, you’ll explore the remarkable transformations and opportunities that emerged with the establishment of the Norfolk Island Airport during World War 11. You’ll learn about the construction of the airport and discover how the New Zealand Army live, worked and enjoyed their time on the Island. Explore the opportunities that arose for the Islanders from the creation of the airport. View the site of the Island’s radar station atop Mt Bates and visit the Lions Club Photographic Display which showcases images from different eras. Afternoon tea is included at a scenic location.
This tour does not require re-confirmation. Driver will have a manifest and will be expecting you at the above time and date.
