Bailey’s restaurant is a family home built in the early 1900s that still stands as the centrepiece of what is now Governor’s. It has been lovingly restored to showcase its original features whilst incorporating modern comforts to make it a truly iconic restaurant. Take in the period décor while enjoying sumptuous meals prepared with fresh local produce by our talented team. It adjoins our café area surrounded by palms, ferns and flowering gardens. The café is light, breezy and colourful creating a fabulous setting for breakfasts and lunches in an all-weather covered alfresco setting.
After a long day of sightseeing, visit our very own heated spa to while away the strains of the day or plunge into the cooling waters of the resort pool. To really indulge, consider booking a relaxation massage through reception.

Proudly Norfolk Island’s first and only environmentally sustainable hotel, Governor’s Lodge Resort Hotel is the ideal accommodation option for guests wishing to minimise their carbon footprint. Not only does the hotel’s solar power system generate a significant 52Kw of renewable electricity – much of which is supplied back into the island’s grid - but the on-site pure rainwater filtration system has a massive storage capacity of 2 million litres. Both of these factors paired with using only the freshest locally grown or caught produce provide the perfect mix of sustainability and all modern comforts.
All units have a lounge and dining area, kitchenette, private bathroom and separate bedroom with built in wardrobes, huge king bed and plenty of space. For a little extra, consider upgrading to one of our deluxe units which are larger, have an extra deck at the rear with sweeping valley views, a double spa bath in the bathroom and lots of extra bonus comforts.

Executive Lodges: Well appointed, one bedroom, fully serviced rooms. Each room has a separate bedroom from the lounge, front verandah and off-street parking. Individual private units surrounded by lush gardens with easy access to all the resort facilities. Wheelchair friendly rooms available.
Deluxe Lodges: Best views on the property, one bedroom, fully serviced rooms. Each room has a separate bedroom from the lounge, double spa bath, private back verandah, spa bath and off-street parking.
The Governor’s Lodge Resort has two conference rooms/areas and can be configured to suit various requirements and functionality such as corporate functions, workshops, breakfast seminars, theatre events, large dinner functions and weddings.
The Reception Conference Room seats 40 - 48 configured in banquet style, and 80 in theatre style.
The Marquee Café seats up to 165 configured in banquet style, and 200 in theatre style. The Marquee is a permanent and significant structure and has inbuilt gas heating, BBQ/Kitchen/Buffet facilities, coffee/tea station.
Both conference facilities are equipped with large visual display screen, laptop to screen projection, inbuilt sound system, internet access, toilets and storage. General conference facilities available at the hotel include 2 x stand-alone tents that can be joined (approx. 6x9m each), stage platforms, extra seating, 12 x large round banquet tables (seat 10), easels, whiteboards, display tables, portable sound system, spot lighting, festoon lighting, backdrops, decorative banners, pull up banners, red entry carpet rolls, portable bar facilities, and many other props and decorations.

Bailey’s Restaurant: This beautifully restored house is the centrepiece at Governor's Lodge offering gorgeous surrounds, fine cuisine, Chef's specials and a dining experience to always remember. What a perfect place to enjoy lunch floating on the original flagstone verandah. Sip on a glass of wine or a cool beer while we look after your every need. Arrive and enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail in the bar area, relax and be shown to your table to select from the comprehensive a la carte menu and let your mouth water until the delights arrive, carefully placed by your smiling waiter. Open for Dinner 3 days per week, Thursday - Saturday from 5.00pm.
Governor's Café: Developed to compliment the old homestead the modern shade structure alongside sits comfortably in the subtropical gardens. There’s always something in bloom and the evergreen scrubs set off the larger palms and majestic Norfolk pine trees. Enjoy locally grown, roasted arabica coffee. The continental breakfast buffet provides the lighter choices while our a la carte menu offers a comprehensive selection of cooked options. Open daily 7.30am to 9.30am, enjoy the alfresco ambience of the Cafe and linger over your breakfast to start the day feeling relaxed.
Governor's Lounge Bar: Reception hours are from 8.30am - 4.30pm daily and our Lounge Bar, located directly behind reception, is open for the same hours. Here you can relax in comfy chairs, surf the internet, sip on a cappuccino, grab a toasted sandwich as a snack and just relax. Read a book from our library, play some cards or backgammon, enjoy happy hour - any hour.
