Governor’s Lodge provides the perfect setting for an unforgettable holiday experience. This welcoming, serene retreat has 55 individual one-bedroom cabins set among 12 acres of landscaped subtropical gardens dotted with majestic Norfolk pine trees, hibiscus and native shrubs. Centrally located, Governor’s Lodge is within easy walking distance of the island’s shopping strip, and a short drive from historic Kingston and idyllic Emily Bay. There’s three on-site dining venues, a pool, heated spa and a guest laundry. The resort is the perfect base for a memorable Norfolk Island holiday.

Governor’s Lodge prides itself as being Norfolk Island’s first environmentally sustainable hotel, ideal for guests wishing to minimise their carbon footprint. The solar power system generates a significant
52Kw of renewable electricity, feeding excess back into the island’s grid, and the on-site pure rainwater filtration system has an impressive two million litre storage capacity. Both of these factors paired with using only the freshest locally grown or caught produce provide the perfect mix of sustainability and all modern comforts.

ACCOMMODATION

All cabins have a lounge and dining area, private bathroom and separate bedroom with built in wardrobes, a king bed and plenty of space. For a little extra, consider upgrading to one of the Deluxe Cabins which are larger, have an extra deck at the rear with sweeping valley views, a double spa bath in the bathroom and lots of extra bonus comforts.

One Bedroom Cabin with Balcony: Well appointed, fully serviced, one bedroom, cabin, each with a separate bedroom from the lounge, front verandah and off-street parking. Individual private cabins are surrounded by lush gardens with easy access to all the resort facilities. A wheelchair friendly room is available.

Deluxe One Bedroom Cabin with Balcony: Offers the best views on the property. One bedroom, fully serviced cabin, each room has a separate bedroom from the lounge, double spa bath, private back verandah, spa bath and off-street parking.

DINING

We offer delicious options throughout the day, from breakfast, lunch and dinner through to snacks; showcasing, when possible, the sensational local produce. You will always have options at your fingertips. All areas are fully licenced.

Bailey’s Restaurant: This beautifully restored house is the iconic centrepiece of Governor’s Lodge. Bailey’s offers a charming homestead atmosphere while delivering quality modern cuisine from an a la carte menu. Bailey’s is a classy dining destination offering the same welcoming warmth and hospitality that you enjoy throughout this resort. Reservations are recommended. Open for dinner Tuesday to Saturday from 5pm until late. 

The Boatshed: Dining is a relaxed affair as you kick off your day with a café style breakfast under the sails of the marquee. This area is also used for functions. Breakfast: Daily 7am – 10am . Casual dining menu: Tuesday to Saturday 12 noon – 4pm & Sunday/Monday 12 noon – 8pm.

Lounge Bar & Cafe: Located directly behind reception, offering a wide range of casual dine-in or take-away options. Enjoy a freshly ground barista style coffee, grab a quick bite or order from the casual dining menu and enjoy a chilled wine or beer alongside. Open daily from 9am – 5pm.

CONFERENCE FACILITIES

Governor’s Lodge has two conference rooms/areas and can be configured to suit various requirements and functionality such as corporate functions, workshops, breakfast seminars, theatre events, large dinner functions and weddings. Both conference facilities are equipped with a large visual display screen, laptop to screen projection, inbuilt sound system, internet access, toilets and storage. General conference facilities available at the hotel include 2 x stand-alone tents that can be joined (approx. 6x9m each), stage platforms, extra seating, 12 x large round banquet tables (seat 10), easels, whiteboards, display tables, portable sound system, spotlighting, festoon lighting, backdrops, decorative banners, pull up banners, red entry carpet rolls, portable bar facilities, and many other props and decorations.

The Reception Conference Room seats 40 - 48 configured in banquet style, and 80 in theatre style.

The Marquee Café seats up to 165 configured in banquet style, and 200 in theatre style. The Marquee is a permanent and significant structure and has inbuilt gas heating, BBQ/Kitchen/Buffet facilities, coffee/tea station.
