Vanuatu Day Tours

Published 13 Dec 2022

Vanuatu provides visitors with a great range of day tours and activities to suit any traveller - think white-sand beaches, leafy jungle canopies, entertaining cultural shows, humbling traditional experiences and adrenaline-fueled adventures. We asked our team what their favourite Vanuatu experiences have been when they visited and have shared their responses below.

Jungle Zipline:

Get the heart rate pumping as you swoop above the jungle canopy on an exhilarating zipline. With jaw-dropping aerial views of Mele Bay as well as the surrounding jungle and canyons, this will be a highlight of your Vanuatu holiday. There are a few different zipline options to select from depending on the level of adrenalin you are seeking, as well as a combo-option that lets you experience over 2km of ziplines.

Round Island Safari:

If you’d rather explore Efate from the ground, then the Round Island Safari day tour is a great option. You’ll be picked up by your experienced tour guide who will spend the day showing you some of Vanuatu’s history, culture and natural wonders. The tour includes morning tea and a buffet lunch, the opportunity to jump in the water at a beach stop-off, cultural displays including fire walking and commentary from a local guide who can answer any questions that you have about Efate and Vanuatu.

Mele Cascades:

Vanuatu’s Mele Cascades are located just 10km outside of Port Vila. They consist of a stunning series of clear natural pools that descend the hillside, culminating with a spectacular 35-meter waterfall. You can climb all the way to the top using ropes to guide you, and when you get to the top you can cool off by taking a dip. There are also toilets, change rooms and a café on-site, ensuring that you have everything you need for a full day of fun.

Blue Hole Tours on Espiritu Santo:

There are several blue holes scattered along the East coast of Espiritu Santo which are open to the public including Riri Riri Blue Hole, Matevulu Blue Hole and Nanda Blue Hole. The water in these natural swimming pools is filtered through underwater limestone streams which results in the water being very pure and taking on an amazing luminous shade of blue. There are many different tours to choose from so whether you want to dive headfirst into the refreshing pools, drift atop the water in an outrigger canoe or trek through the surrounding jungle on horseback, there is an option to suit every traveller.

Lokalangia Custom Village (Lowinio) Tour:

Visiting a traditional village in Tanna will give you genuine insight into the customs of the local tribes and people. During this tour, you’ll have the opportunity to view the different areas of the village including homes, shared kitchens and communal living spaces. You’ll also be able to taste some traditional food, meet many villagers and have a chat with the tribal chief. This tour is an amazing and unmissable experience for anyone visiting Tanna.
