Tour Itinerary:
This fascinating tour allows you the opportunity to visit many of the local factories, & souvenir stores around Rarotonga and a chance to meet a number of our local artists who are very passionate about their culture & history. Discover unique flavours of banana wine at the Koteka Winery, and learn about the production of local beer at Cooks Lager Brewery. Meet Mike Tavioni, master carver and cultural icon and founder of Gallery Tavioni and Vananga. Meet Ricky at his ukulele workshop and learn how the instrument is made. Stop in a Tivaevae Collectables for vibrant and colourful hand-made quilts and crafts and Pacific Weave for Pacific-made souvenirs and locally made perfumes and scented soap. Visit the Rito Factory, a small family business that specialises in producing beauty and health products made with cold pressed virgin coconut oil, and The Beachcomber, an old colonial building which houses a number of boutique stores including a contemporary art gallery, pearl store and small cafe.
