Now that Lord Howe Island is open to visitors once again, many Australians are choosing to make this gorgeous island their next holiday destination. Yet while many wish to travel to Lord Howe Island, there are still plenty of questions floating around about what measures you have to take to travel in a post-pandemic world. At Spacifica Travel, we are here to provide you with all the information you need to know about making your Lord Howe Island holiday possible during these unprecedented times.

Travelling to Lord Howe Island During Covid-19

While Lord Howe Island has reopened for Australians to visit, there are still restrictions in place to protect the health and safety of all those who visit and live on the island. Large portions of the Australian mainland are still experiencing high case numbers of Covid-19 each day, which has forced the governing body of the island to implement measures for all visitors.

What States can Travel to Lord Howe Island?

Lord Howe Island is considered to be part of New South Wales, which means that anyone living in the state can freely travel to the island.

As of February 2022, New South Wales currently has no border restrictions for Australians travelling from other states and territories. However, states such as Western Australia still enforce re-entry restrictions for travellers returning after their trip. For an up-to-date look at New South Wales’ border restrictions, visit the state government’s website.
