Nestled inland, in the village of Matavera, appreciating the natural beauty and tropical surroundings sits this purpose-built eco retreat. A glamor camping property consisting of three Luxury Safari Tents, and three Tropical Ares or Studio Units, each fitted with the necessities needed for comfort and relaxation. This property was designed with our precious environment in mind while still providing guests with a stylish outdoor living experience.

Tropical Are

Styled with true Polynesia in mind with cooling high ceilings and woven materials, our 2 Tropical Are (Polynesian style studio room) command relaxation. Each Are boasts a private deck facing the stunning mountains of Takitumu, and overlooking a traditional pawpaw plantation. Relax on the indoor daybed while you enjoy a cup of Cook Islands artisan coffee or a cooling local craft brew beer. Ideal for a romantic getaway for two.

Luxury Safari Tent

Our three Luxury Safari Tents are perched upon private timber decks overlooking the Ikurangi site, perfect for a sundowner or getting into a good book. With views of the Takitumu mountain ranges and private outdoor showers, you really can appreciate the natural beauty of our island. Each tent is equipped with home comforts such as power points for charging electronics, hairdryers, iron/ironing board, hot water, tea and coffee making facilities and a bar fridge. A super king bed complete with luxury linens ensures total relaxation.

Ariki Safari Tent

Our most exclusive room, perfect for the bride and groom, honeymoon couples, or those wanting something a little extra special. Enjoy the luxury of our premier Safari Tent, equipped with all the modern conveniences you’ll need for a romantic getaway. Our claw foot bath set amongst a private garden setting is the perfect place to sit back and enjoy a champagne under the stars with your loved one.

Early check in and late check out is available at an additional fee.

Arrivals prior to 6am or departures after 6pm will incur a full night stay.
