When to Visit

Currency
The official currency of Pitcairn Island is the New Zealand Dollar (NZD) but US Dollars (USD) are also accepted in some places. Electricity
Remote island and a unique setup! Pitcairn uses British-style Type G plugs with 240V. An adapter is a must—but hey, it’s part of the adventure!
How to get there

The travel and isolation are what draws many seasoned expeditioners to Pitcairn’s shores. From Australia you fly (usually via Auckland) into Papeete in Tahiti. From here, a domestic flight to the island of Mangareva, where you will catch a short ferry to the village of Rikitea to board the Silver Supporter cargo ship and embark on the 32-hour crossing to Pitcairn Island.
There are also some large cruiseliners departing Tahiti who stop for a day trip to Pitcairn Island for those travellers who want to experience just a taste of the remote Island with a bit more luxury.
Entry Requirements
Before embarking on your journey to Pitcairn Island, ensure that your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay. Additionally, visitors who are arriving and departing on the same vessel and are staying less than 14 days don’t require an entry visa. Middle names are not necessary for your booking, however as immigration requirements are subject to change this should be checked closer to your time of booking.
