Located at Earl’s Anchorage and close to iconic Lagoon Beach is Anchorage Restaurant. Featuring an ever-evolving menu using some of the best locally caught fish and locally grown produce, Anchorage serves up breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just casual drinks - alongside studding ocean views. This is the only restaurant on Lord Howe Island that is serviced by a private aircraft. Plus they have an on-site bakery with daily baked artisan sourdough and other treats. We’re drooling just thinking about it.

If you’re looking for a quick, tasty lunchtime bite, then pop into Thompson’s Store. Their takeaway menu has burgers, fish and chips, rolls, salads and coffee. It’s a great spot to get a feed on those days when you’re in-between hiking and snorkelling.

Island inspired cocktails in a historic Lord Howe Island building overlooking the lagoon – if this sounds perfect then The Crooked Post is the place for your sunset refreshments. They also open earlier on Tuesdays for tacos.

Keen golfers will be glad to know that after a day on the green the Sunset Bar & Grill will welcome them. Plus, if you celebrate your hole in one a little too hard, there’s free transport back to your accommodation!

If IPAs are your thing, make sure you give LHI Brewing Co. a try. This local brewing company creates acclaimed craft beer inspired by the island’s flora and fauna. Our recommendation is the Double Header IPA, inspired by the Double Header Wrasse, an endemic fish to Lord Howe Island.
