Leaving the bustle of town behind, your guide will take you into the countryside to Pepeyo Cultural Village for an authentic cultural experience. This immersive tour provides insight into the history, lifestyle and unique traditions of Vanuatu. Enjoy a short walk through lush forest before being welcomed by a Melanesian warrior, who will introduce you to local customs and village life.

At the village, you’ll experience a range of traditional activities including demonstrations of traditional housing, fishing practices, farming of important animals and root crops, and food preservation methods. You’ll also have the opportunity to sample local delicacies such as roasted pawpaw (papaya) with fresh coconut. The visit concludes with vibrant cultural performances featuring custom dances, bottle and bamboo piano music, and a demonstration of the traditional practice of walking on hot volcanic rocks.

The journey continues to Eden on the River, where nature and culture combine in a relaxed riverside setting. Here, you can enjoy freshwater activities including swimming with turtles, followed by time for lunch (own expense). To complete the day, visit a local chocolate factory to meet the Aelan Chocolate Makers and sample a selection of locally produced chocolates, with the chance to purchase your favourites as a souvenir.
