Tropical Are: “Are” is the word for home in the Cook Islands. Styled with true Polynesia in mind with cooling high ceilings and woven materials, our 3 Tropical Are (Polynesian style studio room) command relaxation. Each Are boasts a private deck facing the stunning mountains of Takitumu, and overlooking a traditional pawpaw plantation. Relax on the indoor daybed while you enjoy a cup of Cook Islands artisan coffee or a cooling local craft brew beer. Ideal for a romantic getaway for two.

Luxury Safari Tent: Our three Luxury Safari Tents are perched upon private timber decks overlooking the Ikurangi site, perfect for a sundowner or getting into a good book. With views of the Takitumu mountain ranges and private outdoor showers, you really can appreciate the natural beauty of our island. Each tent is equipped with home comforts such as power points for charging electronics, hairdryers, iron/ironing board, hot water, tea and coffee making facilities and a bar fridge. A super king bed complete with luxury linens ensures total relaxation.

Ariki Tent: Our most exclusive room, perfect for the bride and groom, honeymoon couples, or those wanting something a little extra special. Enjoy the luxury of our premier Safari Tent, equipped with all the modern conveniences you’ll need for a romantic getaway. Our claw foot bath set amongst a private garden setting is the perfect place to sit back and enjoy a champagne under the stars with your loved one.

Nestled in a tropical garden under the stunning vista of Mount Ikurangi on the east side of Rarotonga, Ikurangi offers guests the choice of a Tropical Are (Polynesian style studio) with private deck facing the mountains or a stunning fully furnished luxury Safari Tent equipped with private ensuite.

For something really special, book our Ariki Safari Tent for two and enjoy a private claw foot bath under the South Pacific stars and complimentary bubbles on arrival. Our four Safari Tents and two Are have been strategically placed to ensure each room enjoys privacy and views of our stunning environment. All guests enjoy beautiful natural toiletries, luxurious waffle robes and an ensuite. Our tents also offer a private open-air hot water shower.
