Suggested Itinerary*:
Explore the northern tip of the Grande Terre (New Caledonia’s mainland). See panoramic landscapes, caves, mines, beaches and islets combined with the imposing mountain range which separates the west coast from the east coast.
Approximate drive time from Noumea to Poum is 5 and a half hours or 424km.
Day 1:
Arrival in Noumea, depending on flight arrival time, time for city centre visits. Overnight at Nouvata Hotel, Noumea.
Day 2:
Head to Poe to discover its beautiful beach and lagoon, before continuing to Voh to walk on the Gatope Beach, visit the coffee Ecomuseum or fly over the heart of Voh on a Microlite (helicopter). Make your way to Poum. Spend the next 3 nights at Malabou Hotel in Poum.
Day 3:
Visit the Koumac Cave, the Mines of Tiebaghi and enjoy a lunch and afternoon on Ilot Tiam Bouene.
Day 4:
Explore the far North of New Caledonia, walk on the Nenon beach, and drive to “Boat Pass”, the northern extremity of the mainland with views on the Beleps Islands. You can finish the day with a clay bath after an easy hike at Relais de Poingam.
Day 5:
Return to Noumea where you overnight at Nouvata Hotel, Noumea.
