Established in 1954, Leanda Lei is the island's original guest house, offering self-contained apartments just 400 meters from Lagoon Beach. Dinner tonight will be a 2-course dinner at The Anchorage.
Please note that all activities during your week on Lord Howe Island are subject to weather conditions and may be adjusted accordingly. Your tour manager will keep you informed of the changes.

Each morning, enjoy breakfast at the Coral Café, located just a 5-minute walk from your apartments. Following breakfast, embark on a guided bus tour of the island. Learn about the local flora, fauna, history, and island life, both past and present. The tour will include key photo opportunities, as well as insights into pests and predators, island infrastructure, air service, shipping, schooling, and more. The remainder of the day is at leisure—take a stroll to the beach or unwind on the veranda of your apartment. Dinner tonight will be a 2-course dinner at the Lord Howe Island Golf Club
Day 3 - Monday 2 February 2026 - North Bay Turtle & Nature Tour, Dog Demonstration, Ian Hutton (B, D)
After breakfast, join Marine Adventures for a relaxed cruise with commentary on the island's history and marine life as you journey to the stunning North Bay. Spot turtles through the 3-metre glass panel before arriving at North Bay, where you can climb Mt Eliza, explore the Old Gulch or Herring Pools, view the seabird rookery, or join a guided seabird walk with Anthony. You may also swim, snorkel (equipment provided), or simply relax and enjoy the surroundings.
In the afternoon, learn about the Lord Howe Island detection dog breeds, their ongoing training, and daily tasks. Watch a live demonstration of the dogs detecting their target odours and species in action. Later, join renowned naturalist, photographer, and part-time museum curator Ian Hutton at the Lord Howe Island Museum for a one-hour presentation on the island’s remarkable birdlife. A long-time researcher and recorder of local bird species, Ian will share stories and photographs, providing an overview of the island’s incredible avian diversity. He will also offer tips on where to find birdlife throughout the seasons and the best locations for viewing. Dinner will be a 2-course dinner at the Coral Café.
Day 4 - Tuesday 3 February 2026 - Coral Viewing, Gin Distillery & Tasting (B,D)
Today, after breakfast, experience the pristine beauty of one of the world’s most untouched reef systems. Learn about this unique marine environment and discover a new world aboard our glass-bottom boats. This tour focuses on exploring the coral seascape and introduces visitors to some of the more unusual lagoon inhabitants, such as the endemic double-header wrasse, stingrays, and turtles. An optional snorkelling experience at Erscott’s Hole is available, or you can just relax on the boat and view the stunning diversity of this exotic marine location.
This afternoon, visit Lord Howe’s award-winning distillery for a tour and gin tasting. Set against the backdrop of breathtaking coastal views, the gin tastings provide a serene environment to savour each distinct gin variety. The gin-making course, echoing the island's commitment to environmental sustainability, offers a hands-on experience to learn the delicate art of distillation, from selecting the perfect blend of botanicals to mastering the intricacies of flavour profiling. Dinner this evening will be a 2-course meal at the Driftwood Restaurant.
Day 5 - Wednesday 4 February 2026 - Walk to Little Island, Historical Movies (B,L,D)
After breakfast, join your guide for a scenic walk-through ancient forests of Banyan trees and endemic Kentia palms. Just over a kilometre from the road, the gentle walk along the southwestern shoreline will lead you to a grassy clearing beneath the towering peaks of Mt Gower and Mt Lidgbird. Following the walk, enjoy lunch at the Coral Café before some free time. Later this afternoon, view historical films about the island before heading to dinner. Dinner this evening will be a 2-course meal at The Anchorage.
Day 6 - Thursday 5 February 2026 - At Leisure, Brewery Tour (B,D)
Today is at leisure. Enjoy a relaxed breakfast, swim in the lagoon, or explore one of the island’s longer hiking trails to discover its birdlife and breathtaking natural scenery. You may also choose to visit the Lord Howe Island Museum and Visitor Centre. Opened in 2002, the museum features innovative displays on the island’s World Heritage environment, community, and history, while the Visitor Centre in the foyer of the museum provides information on activities, events, dining, and any other information about the island. In the afternoon, visit Lord Howe Island’s brewery to learn about its unique brewing process.
