Day 1 – Saturday 6 July 2024: Brisbane to Norfolk Island (T,D)
This morning, meet your dedicated guide at Brisbane International Airport before taking a Qantas flight to the picturesque Norfolk Island. Upon arrival, you'll be transferred to your accommodation for the next seven nights, where a welcome afternoon tea awaits during check-in at Governor’s Lodge. Tonight, savor a delightful Christmas in July 2-course à la carte dinner with entertainment at Paradise Hotel

Day 2 – Sunday 7 July 2024: Markets, Museum & Sumptuous Island Style Dinner (B,L,D)
Head to the markets this morning to enjoy local arts and crafts and mingle with locals, following this explore impressive Hundred Acres Reserve. A walking track through the Reserve leads to Rocky Point spoiling you with views from the cliffs. After this, enjoy a light lunch at Boatshed before heading off to the Bounty Museum. Though small in size, the museum is wide in scope, with lots of artefacts to pore over. Enjoy some free time this late afternoon and get ready for your Christmas in July Sumptuous Island Style Dinner with Entertainment at Paradise Hotel

Day 3 – Monday 8 July 2024: Island Life & Wonderland by night (B,T,L,D)
Begin your morning after breakfast with the Island Life Tour. You will spend a delightful day touring Norfolk Island, gaining a true insight into the intricate nature of modern island life. Morning tea and lunch will be included in this tour. Tonight, now it’s time to get out your Christmas ugly sweater to your two-course dinner at Bailey Restaurant. End the night, enjoying a bush poetry under the stars as you meander along (or ride in the ‘moon buggy’) a gentle winding path with a descendant of the Bounty mutineers, as he recites his poems and lights up the dioramas.

Day 4 – Tuesday 9 July 2024: Kingston, Arthur's Vale & Cyclorama (B,T,D)
Explore more with on the History in the Making Tour. Visit convict work sites in historic Kingston, tour a small working museum, and see demonstrations of hands-on activities such as shingle and rope making. Lunch at own arrangement before heading to Fletcher’s Mutiny Cyclorama. You will then have some free time late afternoon where you have the choose to study the World of Norfolk Exhibition located at Norfolk Mall. Ensure you are back in time for the Traditional Christmas Dinner with all the trimmings, fun trivia and carols at Paradise Hotel.

Day 5 – Wednesday 10 July 2024: Colleen McCullough & Progressive Dinner (B,L,D)
Today you will visit the beloved house and property, ‘Out Yenna’, of world-renowned author Colleen McCullough. Lunch time you will enjoy the taste of local produce at Bounty Bar and Grill that is set in an original building built in the early 1900's. This afternoon, grab a beverage on arrival and get ready to learn some of the unique language of Norfolk Island, before being welcomed into islander homes for the three-course progressive dinner.

Day 6 – Thursday 11 July 2024: Local Industries, Lavender Farm & Island Fish Fry (B,L,D)
This morning, you will meet the skilled artisans and entrepreneurs behind the island's thriving businesses as they showcase their unique crafts and specialties. From handcrafted pottery to locally made soft drinks, you'll have the chance to taste and purchase some of the finest locally-made products. A short break before heading off to Lavender Farm for your lunch.  Tonight enjoy Norfolk traditions at the Island Fish Fry – a feast of local island dishes and entertainment while the sun sets from scenic 'Orn Daa Cliff' on Norfolk’s beautiful western coastline.

Day 7 – Friday 12 July 2024: Nature, History & Night as a Convict (B,L,D)
This morning you’ll Explore Norfolk Island's geological marvels in all their natural beauty. Be expertly guided through the beauty and characteristics of the island's delightful native, endemic and introduced species of trees and shrubs, plants and palms, ferns, flowers and fruits.  After this, enjoy a light lunch at Boatshed before heading off to Pitcairn Island Settlers. On a guide tour visit the gracious original Bailey homestead and gardens before a stroll through the barn, dairy and out-buildings. After a short break in the afternoon, get ready for one last night of fun to meet new friends! Dress up as a convict and join the Commandant for a memorable evening filled with merriment, feasting, singing, and dancing.

Day 8 – Saturday 13 July 2024: Farewell to Norfolk Island (B)
Enjoy your last hours on the island before preparing to head home. Be transferred to the airport for your Brisbane flight. Lunch at own arrangement.

Be welcomed at Governor’s Lodge, a resort-style property located a short two minute drive, or within easy walking distance to Burnt Pine township. The property has 55 individual one-bedroom cabins set among 12 acres of landscaped subtropical gardens dotted with majestic Norfolk pine trees, hibiscus and native shrubs. On-site there’s three dining venues, a pool, heated spa and a guest laundry. The sites of historic Kingston and idyllic Emily Bay are only a short drive away. Governor’s Lodge is the perfect base for a memorable Norfolk Island holiday.

ACCOMMODATION

All cabins have a lounge and dining area, private bathroom and separate bedroom with built in wardrobes, a king bed and plenty of space. For a little extra, consider upgrading to one of the Deluxe Cabins which are larger, have an extra deck at the rear with sweeping valley views, a double spa bath in the bathroom and lots of extra bonus comforts.

One Bedroom Cabin with Balcony: Well appointed, the one bedroom cabins each have a separate bedroom from the lounge, front balcony and off-street parking. Cabins are stand alone and are surrounded by lush gardens with easy access to all the resort facilities. A wheelchair friendly room is available.

Deluxe One Bedroom Cabin with Balcony: This cabin offers the best views on the property. Each has one bedroom, separate from the lounge, plus a spa bath and a private back verandah. There are four Deluxe Cabins.

DINING

Governor’s Lodge offer delicious options throughout the day, from breakfast, lunch and dinner through to snacks. Where possible, the property showcases the sensational local produce. All areas are fully licenced.

Bailey’s Restaurant: This beautifully restored house is the iconic centrepiece of Governor’s Lodge. Bailey’s offers a charming homestead atmosphere while delivering quality modern cuisine from an a la carte menu. Bailey’s is a classy dining destination offering the same welcoming warmth and hospitality that you enjoy throughout this resort. Reservations are recommended. Open for dinner 7 days a week from 5pm until late. 

The Boatshed: Dining is a relaxed affair as you kick off your day with a café style breakfast under the sails of the marquee, or return for a relaxed lunch. This area is also used for functions. Open for breakfast daily 7am – 10am, and lunch daily from 12 noon – 2pm.

Lounge Bar & Café: Located directly behind reception, and offering a wide range of casual dine-in or take-away options. Enjoy a freshly ground barista style coffee, grab a quick bite from the display cabinet, some snacks for the afternoon, or a chilled wine or beer. Open daily from 9am – 5pm.

SUSTAINABILITY

Governor’s Lodge prides themselves on being Norfolk Island’s first environmentally sustainable hotel, ideal for guests wishing to minimise their carbon footprint. The solar power system generates a significant 52Kw of renewable electricity, feeding excess back into the island’s grid, and the on-site pure rainwater filtration system has an impressive two million litre storage capacity.

CONFERENCE FACILITIES

Governor’s Lodge has a conference room which can be configured to suit various requirements and functionality such as corporate functions, workshops, breakfast seminars, and theatre events. The facility is equipped with a large visual display screen, laptop to screen projection, inbuilt sound system, internet access and toilets. The Reception Conference Room seats 40-48 configured in banquet style, and 80 in theatre style.
