Suggested Itinerary*:
Day 1:

Head to Pouembout for a short hike on Plateau de Tia to enjoy a panoramic view over the area and ocean. Then visit the Cultural Centre of Pomemie to see the Kanak exhibits. Overnight in Koné.
Day 2:
Head north to take the last ferry boat of New Caledonia joining the road between Hienghène and the north of the mainland. There are two waterfalls along the way: Cascade de Tao and Cascade Colnett. You could stop at Association Djowero to learn how to carve mountain rocks. Visit the St Denis church, the first catholic church of New Caledonia. Overnight in Hienghène.
Day 3:
Visit the Cultural Centre of Hienghène, stop at the viewpoint over the Sphynx and Hen (rocks in front of the Bay), walk on the “500 francs bill” beach (this beach used to be on the 500 francs bill), and stop along the Linderalic Rocks in Hienghène. Overnight in Poindimié.
Day 4: Visit the Tiwaé Corridor, a rock formation dug by water and at the end of which flows a waterfall. Then enjoy the Tibarama islet for a relaxing lunch and afternoon (short boat ride). Overnight in Bourail.
Day 5:
Today you can visit the Parc des Grandes Fougères, and Fort Teremba , a former penitentiary before returning to Noumea
