Day 1 – Saturday 11 October 2025: Brisbane to Norfolk Island (D)
This morning, meet your dedicated guide at Brisbane International Airport before boarding your Qantas flight to the picturesque Norfolk Island. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Governor’s Lodge, where you will stay for the next seven nights. This evening, join your fellow travellers for a welcome dinner at the hotel with a local guest, setting the tone for an enjoyable and memorable journey.

Day 2 – Sunday 12 October 2025: Island Life Tour (B, L)
Immerse yourself in an insightful tour of Norfolk Island, offering a deep understanding of modern island life. Discover how islanders are born, educated, build careers, worship, and are cared for in their later years, culminating in a respectful burial in a lovingly maintained community graveyard. Knowledgeable guides will share the fascinating history of the island's eight original family groups and explain how their cultural traditions are preserved and celebrated in daily life. Learn about the island’s infrastructure, including electricity generation, gas supply, and the logistics of importing petroleum products, food, and essential materials. Gain an appreciation for the challenges of road construction, healthcare services, and environmental conservation on the island. Morning tea and lunch are included during the tour. The afternoon is yours to explore at leisure, enjoy some shopping, or simply relax. Dinner is at your own expense. Why not visit Salty Beer Garden in town, where you can enjoy drinks, dinner, and live music with the locals in a vibrant atmosphere.

Day 3 – Monday 13 October 2025: Royal Agriculture & Horticultural Show Day (B, D)
Take part in the Annual Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society Show, a cherished tradition on Norfolk Island since its inaugural event in 1860. Held at Rawson Hall, the show features tables brimming with vibrant flowers, fresh vegetables and fruits, delectable baked goods, and an array of stunning artwork and handcrafted items. A detailed program for the day’s events will be provided in your welcome bag. In the afternoon, attend The Reef Brief, an informative session about Norfolk Island’s unique reefs. Learn about one of the world's southernmost coral reefs and its surrounding Australian Marine Park, which borders the World Heritage-listed Kingston and Arthur’s Vale Historic Area. This region is celebrated for its remarkable historical significance and picturesque landscapes. Conclude your day with a delightful two-course dinner at a local restaurant, savouring the island’s culinary offerings.

Day 4 – Tuesday 14 October 2025: Natural Wonders & Island Fish Fry (B, D)
This morning, discover Norfolk Island's stunning geological wonders and natural beauty. Your expert guide will introduce you to the island's diverse flora, including native, endemic, and introduced species of trees, shrubs, plants, palms, ferns, flowers, and fruits, offering insights into their unique characteristics and significance. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure—explore the island, shop for local treasures, or simply relax. This evening, experience a beloved Norfolk tradition at the Island Fish Fry. Indulge in a feast of authentic island dishes while enjoying live entertainment and watching the sun set over the breathtaking western coastline at scenic 'Orn Daa Cliff.'

Day 5 – Wednesday 15 October 2025: Breakfast Bush Walk, Garden Tour & Wonderland by Night (B, D)
This morning, choose between two delightful walking experiences. Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the lush Palm Glen Reserve, or, for those seeking a bit more activity, take a scenic 3.5km walk from Mount Bates to the iconic Captain Cook Monument. Both options conclude with a delicious barbecue breakfast served on the clifftop, offering spectacular views. In the afternoon, immerse yourself in the charm of Norfolk Island's most enchanting gardens. Wander through beautifully landscaped grounds featuring magnificent views, including the island’s only maze and a breathtaking private garden. Day 6 – Thursday 16 October 2025: Norfolk Island Native Flora & Bird Life Tour (B, L)
Join a Norfolk Island local for a personalized half-day tour, complete with morning tea, as you explore the island’s native and endemic flora and bird species. Gain unique insights into the island’s rich biodiversity while enjoying an intimate and informative experience. Conclude the tour with a delightful picnic lunch at one of the island's scenic locations. Dinner this evening will be at your own leisure.

Day 7 – Friday 17 October 2025: Glass Bottom Boat, Baunti Farm & Industry Tour (B, D)
Join Norfolk Islanders Donald and George as they share their expertise on the island’s unique marine life. Once you’ve "walked the plank" with these descendants of the Bounty mutineers, it’s just 60 seconds to the reef. Explore vibrant coral gardens and tropical fish in the calm, crystal-clear waters of Norfolk’s lagoon, accompanied by engaging and informative commentary—and a touch of Norfolk humour—from your knowledgeable guides. This iconic Farm & Industry tour includes a visit to a farm that supplies seasonally grown fruits and vegetables to the local market, a state-of-the-art palm nursery exporting globally, and a stunning home garden featuring hydroponics. Enjoy a cup of tea as you explore this beautiful property, owned by descendants of the Bounty mutineers. The tour continues to the Liqueur Factory, with a stop at the local mill along the way, where you’ll enjoy a tasting of locally crafted liqueurs. This is a must-do experience during your time on the island. On your final evening, savour a memorable three-course farewell dinner at The Homestead, a perfect way to conclude your Norfolk Island adventure.

Day 8 – Saturday 18 October 2025: Farewell to Norfolk Island (B)
Spend your final hours on Norfolk Island at your leisure, reflecting on your memorable journey. This afternoon, you will be transferred to the airport to board your flight back to Brisbane. Lunch will be at your own arrangement.

Be welcomed at Governor’s Lodge, a resort-style property located a short two minute drive, or within easy walking distance to Burnt Pine township. The property has 55 individual one-bedroom cabins set among 12 acres of landscaped subtropical gardens dotted with majestic Norfolk pine trees, hibiscus and native shrubs. On-site there’s three dining venues, a pool, heated spa and a guest laundry. The sites of historic Kingston and idyllic Emily Bay are only a short drive away. Governor’s Lodge is the perfect base for a memorable Norfolk Island holiday.

ACCOMMODATION

All cabins have a lounge and dining area, private bathroom and separate bedroom with built in wardrobes, a king bed and plenty of space. For a little extra, consider upgrading to one of the Deluxe Cabins which are larger, have an extra deck at the rear with sweeping valley views, a double spa bath in the bathroom and lots of extra bonus comforts.

One Bedroom Cabin with Balcony: Well appointed, the one bedroom cabins each have a separate bedroom from the lounge, front balcony and off-street parking. Cabins are stand alone and are surrounded by lush gardens with easy access to all the resort facilities. A wheelchair friendly room is available.

Deluxe One Bedroom Cabin with Balcony: This cabin offers the best views on the property. Each has one bedroom, separate from the lounge, plus a spa bath and a private back verandah. There are four Deluxe Cabins.

DINING

Governor’s Lodge offer delicious options throughout the day, from breakfast, lunch and dinner through to snacks. Where possible, the property showcases the sensational local produce. All areas are fully licenced.

Bailey’s Restaurant: This beautifully restored house is the iconic centrepiece of Governor’s Lodge. Bailey’s offers a charming homestead atmosphere while delivering quality modern cuisine from an a la carte menu. Bailey’s is a classy dining destination offering the same welcoming warmth and hospitality that you enjoy throughout this resort. Reservations are recommended. Open for dinner 7 days a week from 5pm until late. 

The Boatshed: Dining is a relaxed affair as you kick off your day with a café style breakfast under the sails of the marquee, or return for a relaxed lunch. This area is also used for functions. Open for breakfast daily 7am – 10am, and lunch daily from 12 noon – 2pm.

Lounge Bar & Café: Located directly behind reception, and offering a wide range of casual dine-in or take-away options. Enjoy a freshly ground barista style coffee, grab a quick bite from the display cabinet, some snacks for the afternoon, or a chilled wine or beer. Open daily from 9am – 5pm.

SUSTAINABILITY

Governor’s Lodge prides themselves on being Norfolk Island’s first environmentally sustainable hotel, ideal for guests wishing to minimise their carbon footprint. The solar power system generates a significant 52Kw of renewable electricity, feeding excess back into the island’s grid, and the on-site pure rainwater filtration system has an impressive two million litre storage capacity.

CONFERENCE FACILITIES

Governor’s Lodge has a conference room which can be configured to suit various requirements and functionality such as corporate functions, workshops, breakfast seminars, and theatre events. The facility is equipped with a large visual display screen, laptop to screen projection, inbuilt sound system, internet access and toilets. The Reception Conference Room seats 40-48 configured in banquet style, and 80 in theatre style.
